Mix some family history with very good coffee and a side of charm and you get Café Costermans. Hidden down a quiet alley just off the Sablon, it opens into a peaceful courtyard that feels like it belongs in a dreamier version of Brussels. Inside, it’s all exposed brick, velvet sofas and chess boards. Outside, it’s leafy, sunlit and very Aperol-appropriate. The menu’s all in French with no English options available, but don’t panic. The team are absolute gems and will walk you through everything with patience and flair. We went in hard on brunch: nduja eggs with a spicy oil drizzle and a Croque jambonneau so gloriously overloaded with cheese it probably needed structural support. Both were delicious, but seriously filling. Come hungry. Coffee-wise, the iced oat latte leaned milky but still held its own. The espresso? Smooth and strong. Service was relaxed, friendly and a cut above most places in town. If the weather plays ball, that courtyard is worth the visit alone. If not, the couches and humble interior make up for it. Not quite the viral spot social media hinted at, but a genuinely lovely café with real heart and great staff. Would return in a heartbeat.

We were very pleased with this cafe! Perfect for an after work drink: in a calm and very beautiful courtyard, good choice of wine and other drinks, very reasonable prices. The service was very quick and attentive. Bonus: the cutest dog that is very well behaved! I will definitely be back!

A really great spot, the stuff is lovely and especially on a Sunday you get to relax in the courtyard was having the sun on your face. Moreover you get to see all those nice old Bruxellian buildings from inside the courtyard. Would definitely recommend

The place is amazing especially for the quiet outdoor terrace. The food is great, we enjoyed the asparagus and croque-monsieur, but felt like the portions were a little bit small. The staff is really nice however the service was quite slow. Would definitely recommend and be back!

The courtyard is lovely, open and spacious. What their Google listing doesn’t show is when the kitchen is open. Unfortunately we would have had to wait over an hour for it to open so we left.

Very cozy courtyard and tasty food. The Ritz Kimchi is only on the weekends.

The place is fabulous. Sheltered and sunny when we went. The food is good. Very reasonable. The staff were very sweet and conscientious however they seemed overwhelmed by the amount of people.
